This is a prompting Blog

My intent here is to write a poem from the prompt I give to you , the reader, in hopes that it will inspire something and get others to write with me.

Today's Prompt is Write your lyrics

I would like to show you how easy it is to actually see your words in a song. The best way I can think of is to give an example.  The song I chose is what I believe A vary easy example of a four stanza poem with a repeat double line. The rhyme is the second and forth lines last word of each stanza.
SO this is what you do, LISTEN TO THE SONG, follow the syllable count to the tune and write about something you know.  Then you should be able to sing your words to the song. The song we are using is Welcome to my world by Dean Martin here are the words.

Welcome to my world
Won't you come on in?
Miracles I guess
Still happen now and then

Step into my heart
Leave your cares behind
Welcome to my world
Built with you in mind

Knock, and the door will open
Seek, and you will find
Ask, and you'll be given
The key to this world of mine

I'll be waiting here
With my arms unfurled
Waiting just for you
Welcome to my world

Waiting just for you
Welcome to my world

I am still trying to get people to read my blog, SO OURS IS ...

Welcome to my blog
wont you stay a while
Maybe you will find
a thought to make you smile

Let me share a poem
you can write one too
Welcome to my blog
Have you got one too?

Read, and if you want to
Laugh, a bit with me too
Write, a note of your own
It's so very easy to do

I'll be writing here
Trying to be top dog
come and read me too
Welcome to my blog

come and read me too
Welcome to my blog

  1. Oh dear. I do this all the time when I am working but I can't think of one now!

  2. From my cats, to the tune of Sumertime....

Diner time, and the living is easy
Bowls of food, floating down from on high.
    Fish in jelly
    Or maybe meat in gravy,
A nice bowl of milk there on standby.

    One of these mornings
We might have to go hunting
    The hings that run fast
Or the things that can fly
    But until that morning
    We will never go hunger
With a well trained human standing by.
Now all together FOOD we cry.

  3. I do that all the time too. Songs run through my head so much I thought I was crazy, but found I'm just A-B Normal. Tee Hee Hee !
Thank you for the comment !

  4. We posted at the same time, how funny is that.... LOVE the SUMMERTIME words!!! great work !

  5. Welcome to my world,
    Filled with cats within,
    Please don't mind the fur,
    I'm sorry for the din.

    Please ignore the one
    Washing his behind,
    It's really not a hint,
He's not got you in mind.

    I wouldn't chose that chair,
    Ginger will protest.
Oh dear, I'll go and find
    A bandage for your chest.

    I'm sorry there's no seat
    Without a cat there curled
I'm afraid you'll have to stand,
    Welcome to my world!

  6. I can write but I think my poetry skills not not any were near the level your are at.But I promise I will try my hand at it sometime this next week.

  7. Penny ... another great one !
