I've been sitting here most of the day, typing away and posting the flower pictures from today, (the purples that turn blue when under cloudy skies.) and just trying to figure out what I was going to put up as a new prompt today. I think we will do a Haiku about the weather...OURS IS...
Quench my soul fair rain
seep down deep drenching my core
refresh the love therein
As I wrote in the garden post today, it is raining here. I love the rain, it has a magic to it for me. Rain never sorrows my soul, it cleanses away the dusty musky stuff and allows the freshness to weave its way in, trickling down to the roots of my thirsty being. I have the feeling that is how our garden feels too, for it drinks the rain like a lover's warm touch, absorbing every molecule given.
As I sit here and write, I can see out my window. The rain right now is more misty than a hard rain, (though standing in it for five minutes soaked my pennelton,) and it is dripping off the side of the fifth-wheel's roof in a rhythmic flow that sings a melody in my soul. I can see the wind blowing the branches of the Oak and Locus trees, as the occasional sparrow flies into the under brush to snack on the seeds we provide them. They share their space with the thrashers and the quail, who ruffle their feathers at the trouble of getting wet while they eat. This is our paradise.
Even in the rain we enjoy so much about living here. The only thing that could make it perfect today is if the storm cleared just long enough to enjoy the full moon and then allow the rain to continue... ever think how great that would be....UMMM rain on me for ...aaahhh... 20 minutes say ...then just let the sun warm me back up... aah refreshing... tee hee hee
Wayne and I both go out now and then to check on the yard, just a precaution to see how all of our babies are holding up in the unexpected spring rain. The wind is strong today and a few of the Iris stocks had to be staked so they wouldnt break before they could flower. Nothing much else had to be done.
It is a very relaxing day today, so I'm overindulging in taking time to write and catch up on reading. We have a tri-tip roast in the Crock Pot with a ton of veggies that is just about ready to come out. It is smelling up the house something fierce, and it is making it hard for me to concentrate. Guess that is as good as any reason to end for today...
ENJOY
