This is a prompting Blog

My intent here is to write a poem from the prompt I give to you , the reader, in hopes that it will inspire something and get others to write with me.

Todays Prompt is USE THESE WORDS

The rules are you must use the words as they are given, with no changes. You must use at least 8 of the 10 words. You may write yours in prose or any form of poetry...today's words are... MEMORY, HARVEST, CHATTING, CHILDHOOD, HOMETOWN, DANCE, STARS, ARRIVE, DEEP, TRUTH

OURS IS...

Xanadu

Childhood called and I heard the sounds
especially when the Gypsies came around
Their world was filled with my Xanadu
safely tucked in the trees behind our school

They danced and sang to the stars and moon
and gather together in the month of June
they stayed deep into the harvest time
and left just before winter would arrive

A memory of life far back in my youth
one that was lost to tell the truth
until chatting with a long time friend
about our hometown way back then

YOUR TURN

  3. Great work as ever JL.
I'm off form this week after a bout of illness. It is hard enough getting to work and back without the thinking bit too.
