we stare into the inky sky
watching a star going super nova
It weaves colors in the darkness,
traces fall like a twig from a tree,
long lacy streams of light
whip the night scape alive,
a spark in the universe...
the bite of frost stings us,
but we join hands and
marvel at the wondrous sky

  1. Look up! See the meteorite fly
Making streaks across the inky sky,
Plunging to the earth and thus to die,
In a smoking crater each will lie.
Where do they come from, what can they be?
What throws them across the Galaxy?
From some nova do the swiftly flee?
    Forget science, try some fantasy.
See flying so high up in the dark,
Each one making its own fiery mark,
Flaming dragons whip a glowing spark,
While the riding elves join in the lark,
Throwing down to earth a pot of gold,
That weaves into the stories of old,
And becomes the marvel that the bold
Find at rainbows end or so we’re told.
Join in with the magic as it brings
Fresh life, each yearning twig now fast springs,
Lacy grasp reaching for dragons wings.
Hold close magic for its absence stings.

  2. Spark
    Bright nova
    Join and marvel
    The inky sky turns
    Lacy.
    The icy wind stings,
    Weaves the clouds,
    Twig moves,
    Whip.
