This is a prompting Blog

My intent here is to write a poem from the prompt I give to you , the reader, in hopes that it will inspire something and get others to write with me.

Todays Prompt is USE THESE WORDS

Today's words are... BETWEEN, YOUNG, TORTURED, ENLIGHTENMENT, JINGLE, PRESTIGIOUS, SILVERTONGUED, GLITTER, SUBWAY,  MERGE

The rules are you must use at least 8 of the 10 words, as they are given, with no changes. You may do prose or any form of poetry.OURS IS...

 Some where between
a young and tortured soul
enlightenment began to jingle...
in the prestigious New York air,
while silvertongued devils
glitter in the subway,
the souls merge,
no longer
tortured or young...
for there ,
in the dusty subway glitter,
as a prestigious jingle
sung by the silvertongued Sinatra
beckons,
we merge
with the enlightenment
between us.

We like to thank Friday Poetically with Brian Miller at one stop poetry  for the NEW YORK prompt, hope you all join in too@ http://onestoppoetry.com/

  2. Interesting how how repeat a jingle before mentioning Sinatra. Certainly appropriate background music. Well played response.

  3. Some where between
    a young and tortured soul
    enlightenment began to jingle...
in the prestigious New York air,
    while silvertongued devils

This is so vivid, so descriptive of one starting out to learn about life..."in the prestigious New York air..."
