We are trying our hand at a FLASH55
OURS IS...
Her age is showing,
though she doesn't see
what matters is the show ...
dusty memories of youth,
dried bouquets of applause,
pealing the curtains of time,
she swirls the dance of ages,
singing folk songs of old
to the spirits guiding her,
one more delicate curtsy,
colors fade to black...

Ah, the committed actor moved by the spirit of art against her enemy of time. Great 55!
ReplyDeletei loved the ..dried bouquets of applause... great picture of lost glory and faded dreams you paint
ReplyDeleteA lot said in a little. I enjoyed reading this post a lot!
ReplyDeleteA lot said is right! What faded dreams, You got it girl!
ReplyDeleteSolid, enjoyable piece. Love the focus of it.
ReplyDeletei see this as aging gracefully...dancing the dance, singing a tune to the final moments...
ReplyDeleteamazing how we all came up with images of dancers...um great minds ponder alike!"swirls the dance of ages"...wonderful line!i could she her moving.
ReplyDeleteI felt the pull of Sunset Strip and the idea of Judy Collins/Joan Baez/Joni Mitchell growing older, still singing folk songs with great depth and while not those amazing sopranos deeper now with wisdom, richer texture and beauty. Lovely work and evocative! Gay
