This is a prompting Blog

My intent here is to write a poem from the prompt I give to you , the reader, in hopes that it will inspire something and get others to write with me.

Today's Prompt is English Sonnet

The form consists of fourteen lines structured as three quatrains and a couplet. With only a rare exception, the meter is iambic pentameter,
A line of iambic pentameter is five iambic feet in a row:
daDUMdaDUMdaDUMdaDUMdaDUM

The usual rhyme scheme is end-rhymed a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, e-f-e-f, g-g.

OURS IS...

CHERISHED TIME

What does the time in a life count down to
our years, our moments, what will they all tell
a legacy of love, moments too few
will it be passed along that we lived well

Time can bring a strong soul straight to their knees
Time is a master of heartache relief
Time passes quickly like wind through the trees
Time is a healer,  yet time is a thief

In time this world that we know just may end
There's no time to loose, so share what you can
This moment in time is all we have friend
We should cherish time with our fellow man

My time here I give lovingly to you
and cherish the time you spend with me too

Today I wish to mention another great blogger friend of mine. Penny @ Pen's Random Jottings http://pensrandomjottings.blogspot.com/,  Who is a very talented writer, not only in poetry but in prose as well, in fact I have yet to prompt her in any way that she has not shown how truly beautiful a person she is... even if at times she thinks otherwise.
And so today we would like to present her with this award...

AWARDED BY PKHREZO

You are such a great person Penny, I am honored to call you friend !

YOUR TURN

  1. I write sonnets in pentameter with the typical rhyme scheme, but I can't stand the iambic part of the equation. I guess they aren't really sonnets then, but oh well! :D

Like the one in Mr. Linky.
